Forest Department

Under the Mahatma Gandhi NREG Scheme, measures are being taken to improve the financial condition of farmers by giving more importance to the individual livelihood. Afforestation activities are being implemented by the convergence of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj  Department and Forest Department where, through Mahatma Gandhi NREGA forest saplings are raised in nurseries,  which can further provide raw material for the development of supplementary activities such as cottage industry, animal husbandry, eco park, cowshed development, forest minor products development.

The Forestry Department  implements and accomplishes the afforestation activities at the district level. Actions are being taken to provide food for cattle and birds by developing plantations for individual works (agroforestry), livelihood supplemental activities (minor forest produce, bio-fuel, medicinal plants) in the farmers' land.
